Students honored during Commencement activities

During an awards luncheon, Physical Therapy celebrated the Class of 2025 and presented several recognitions.

Susanne Hirt Leadership Award

Deema Ballout received the Susanne Hirt Leadership Award, a faculty-nominated accolade. This award recognizes a student with outstanding contributions while serving in a leadership position and demonstrating outstanding promise as a future leader.

Terry Wise Memorial Scholarship

Annelise Sanchez was presented with the Terry Wise Memorial Scholarship. Selected by faculty members based on nominations by clinical instructors, this award honors a student who demonstrates outstanding clinical competence in a variety of areas.

Pro Bono National Honor Society

Several students were inducted into the Pro Bono National Honor Society for their demonstrated commitment to providing underserved clients and communities. Students must complete at least 50 hours of service in one activity to be eligible for this honor society. This year’s recipients are Alice Funez, Carmella Brink, Caroline Doskey, Deema Ballout, Grant Silvestri, Jamieson Edmonds, Jasmin Corral, Jason Hurley, Katherine Michos, Kristen Schlag, Morgan Straughan, Sequoia Waite and Tayah Smith (not pictured).
